My Name Is

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by and welcome! My name is Ricky-Lee Watts and I’m what you may call a “life enthusiast” – enjoying the bliss of life connecting with others, embracing new experiences and exploring beautiful environments and diverse cultures of this world.

Curious, passionate and driven, I believe that every day is a gift.

THE MISSION

I’m a dreamer…a visionary, and this inspires me to be creative. To express my creativity I’ve decided to use this blog as a platform. Extending my love and respect to you I want to share with you some of these special moments in life.

Throughout this journey together I want to share with you vulnerability. I want to share with you laughter, learning and growth. And I want to share with you the beauty of life and the world we live in.

In doing so, I hope I may inspire you, fill your heart with joy, share with you new knowledge, and that you may feel connected and a part of this special community.

Together we can learn, laugh and grow. We can affect change in this world and together we can enjoy the bliss of life.

As an introduction to the website, I invite you to subscribe to stay up to date with new blog posts. In reading, I encourage you to share your thoughts, feedback and suggestions. And if a particular post resonates with you, please feel welcome to share your own experiences, vulnerability, inspiration, or whatever it is you feel compelled to share. My hope is that this blog can be a powerful place for meaningful discussion.

I want to learn and grow with you. And I believe this platform is one of the best ways to do that – on a global scale.

MORE ABOUT WHO I AM

I was born and raised in Port Alberni, BC and I’m Nuu-chah-nulth on my mother’s side. My father’s side remains a mystery. I have spent the greater part of the past 6 years in Victoria, BC where I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Victoria (UVic) and finished a contract as a Student Recruitment Officer for the university. I have now begun my year as an intern with the Province of British Columbia’s Aboriginal Youth Internship Program (AYIP) in the Ministry of Indigenous Relations & Reconciliation, before traveling more of the world

Two of my biggest drivers in life are:

1) Honouring the life experiences of my parents to create the life I have. With determination, I strive to make the most of the life they gave me.
2) Through struggle, hardship and tribulation, I have further gained fervor, spirit and strength that continue to fuel my motivation to learn and grow.

In my travels thus far I have had the pleasure of exploring a few special places such as:

  • Scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef, skydiving Byron Bay and swimming in the magical waters of Whitehaven Beach in Australia

  • Immersing myself in the tropical rainforests of Corcovado and cloud forests of Monteverde in Costa Rica

  • Blackwater rafting the underground glowworm caves of Waitomo and sandboarding the Te Paki Sand Dunes in New Zealand

  • And unforgettably an experience igniting my love for nature and the Pacific Northwest is kayaking Nootka Sound and hiking Nootka Trail

Yet it’s not only these extraordinary environments that invigorate my love for the world we live in, but also the people I meet. Beautiful people with unique perspectives, authentic stories and diverse life views. It’s with people whom I share these life experiences with that make them truly memorable.

We’re all connected, we share this amazing planet, and with it, all of its wondrous life experiences together.

With gratitude, I am keen to embark upon opportunities that allow me to discover this world’s cultures, lifestyles, perspectives, and environments.

In these experiences I look forward to sharing with you the life lessons, learning, growth, and excitement. Thanks for checking out my blog and I look forward to staying connected with you!
